One of my favorite rock albums (and I have few as I'm not a huge rock fan) is The Flaming Lips' "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots". While listening to the album for the upteenth time a few weeks ago, I decided to do my own take on the Yoshimi album cover illustration. I separated Yoshimi from the background in image 2 to showcase her a little more. Drawn and inked in Sketchbook Pro, colored in Photoshop.

It's the after in the Before & After. The colors are amazing. Great work as always.
Those are pretty great! That is one of the few front to back albums where every song hits and is worth listening to (again and again). Terrific drawing.
Very cool and Dynamic! And I like the subtle detail of the blur behind her. Also line quality, gotta love that line quality.
Sheer perfection, as always! I LOVE it. I'd like to blow it up and hang it in our gameroom. How about an illustration for Maxwell's Silver Hammer? It's your nephew's new favorite song.
Lovely job Michael! I love Yoshimi youve invisioned her perfectly! You should do a whole series for each track! Love it!
OH
MY
GOD
brb linking this to all of my friends who have collectively spent a month at least playing this on rock band.
You, sir, are awesome.
